Greetings from Nicaragua.

School

Here in Nicaragua we are doing well and have much to be thankful for, we have seen God moving in our situation in many ways. we have just been able to get a web page up and running www.carazochristianacademy.com it is still under construction but has some info on developements.

One wonderful blessing is that a teacher from my home church in Harrogate is coming to spend a year teaching home school and teacher training, her name is Ann Bentley.

I am not as tired and have a great guy helping me do the construction, we have built the three new classes and they are occupied. We are now doing the Gym, chapel area 20m x 30m so all school kids can get together in one place under a roof.

Health

Susana was able to have her 6 month check up in Costa Rica and all is well, we have to plan for her 1 year check in Sep in Korea, she has slowly been able to change her lifestyle and sleeps most afternoons she can also sleep at night better now.

Family

Joshua & Esther are on holiday from Homeschool and they did Exams with Joel & April ‘s children. They are all working at being friends, though sometimes things get over-powering for them!

We are living on site in the mission house, and have had one team so for two more planned, the house is great and not paying rent is a great feeling of freedom.

Challenges

Our greatest challenges are responding to people who come to the school daily looking for something, officials are the most difficult. We had city hall pressure us for money, thankfully we waited and they were removed from office the next week; we have just been able to sort that out at a fraction of the price!

Another challenge has been looking for teachers. We had a teacher leave due to family difficulties, this was hard as we had put so much time in to her. We will need three teachers for Feb, one of our teachers Carolina is having a baby and hopes to come back.

We have to find young people with vision for teaching because it is not a well paid job nationally so not attractive.
