Postcard from Gloucester – 6th Oct 11

Just a quick update from the Memory family. Jim left this morning from Birmingham on the 6.30am flight to Spain for a week of work on the Cordoba church planting project. He is hoping to meet with various people, pastors and missionaries, to talk about the way forward in the mobilisation of the national Christians and local churches in planting new churches in the province. Please pray for safety, guidance and wisdom for all.
Thanks for the interest in how Grace is doing. She has settled down really well at Sheffield University. She made it through freshers week and has started to get down to some serious work with the help of some very thick looking books and a brand new white lab coat! She has also landed herself a part in the musical Guys and Dolls which the University will be putting on in November. For those who know the musical, she will be playing the part of General Cartright although she was very nearly one of the main characters.
The first two weeks of term at Redcliffe have been pretty busy but I am hoping things will settle down a bit now. Jim and I have however taken on the coordination of a Community Group of students which also means we will be doing periodic tutorials with all of the 12 students in our group. It will be extra work but an area we are happy to be involved, as we see students develop both spiritually and academically over the year.
It will be strange this week with only 3 of us at home but I am looking forward to quality time with Rosie and also Alex who is nursing 2 body blows from his rugby match today!
Thanks for all your support and prayers,
Christine (and Jim) Memory
