About Us

Ebenezer Church is a friendly, family church with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The whole age range is represented at Ebenezer. We have a family service on Sunday Morning called ‘Sunday Alive’ with a creche and a sunday school for the children/teenagers. We run a number of different activities throughout the week, some of which are for specific groups (e.g. Ladies Bible Study, Parent & Toddlers, Genesis & Raze for comprehensive age, etc) and a number that are open to all (e.g. Wednesday Bible Study, Coffee Morning, etc.) Some of these activities run both in term time and during the holidays. (Please see the ‘Activities‘ page for further details.)

The church is open, loving, kind and generous. We seek to help and contribute to the community were ever we can and provide assistance when requested. We hold a number of special events throughout the year, including:

  • Open Days
  • Holiday Bible Club
  • Christmas & Easter Services
  • Carols by Candlelight
  • Church weekend away
  • Baptisms

We are a member of theĀ Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches.

Our Beliefs

We are an Evangelical Church which seeks to preach the ‘Good News’ about Jesus Christ to all (including those living in Talbot Green). Ebenezer Church is a sound Bible-based church and everything we teach and preach is rooted and grounded in the Holy Scriptures. Briefly, we believe in a Triune and Holy God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He was sent into this world to die on a cross and that through His death and subseqent resurrection, God has opened the way for sinners to be reconciled to Him and have eternal life. We believe that all people have sinned – fallen short of God’s mark and in some way or other disboeyed Him (e.g. think of the 10 commandments). We believe that God is calling out to all people everywhere to put their trust in His Son (Jesus Christ) and by doing so their sin will be forgiven and they can enjoy a wonderful relationship with the God of Heaven and Earth. (See ourĀ Statement of Faith for more details.)

Furthermore, we believe that people in today’s society are crying out for the truth. We know that people are searching for a deeper meaning to life and for a deeper sense of self-purpose. We know that people are taking voyages of discovery, meditating and seeking ‘spiritual’ experiences. We also know that many people are left marginalised, on the fringes and abandoned by society. We also know that people who cannot find self-worth or self-purpose turn to drugs, alcohol, depression and other downwards spirals of decay. Yet we know that what these people are all seeking and we know that a person’s self-worth and purpose is bound up with the God who created us and made us in His image. We know that nothing can fill the God-shaped hole inside of us, but God, no matter how hard people might try.

Parking Parking is available at Tonysguboriau School. Please do not park on the road in front of other houses as this is unfair and reflects poorly on the church.

Disabled Parking The area immeadiately in front of the church is ‘reserved’ as disabled parking. Unfortunately, since we are situated in a residential estate, we cannot provide on-road dedicated disabled parking bays.
